Pork causes only about 2% of documented food reactions in dogs, but no protein is harder to keep out by casual label reading. Pork liver rides in hundreds of recipes named for chicken, beef or fish, and pork's other forms never say pork at all: gelatin is usually porcine, plasma binds wet foods and toppers, and bacon flavoring is pork by definition.
The foods below are screened for the whole panel: pork and its organ meats, porcine ingredients, bacon, gelatin and plasma. Where an ingredient will not name its species, this list assumes the worst: unnamed plasma is excluded even though some of it is beef or chicken, because a food that cannot prove it is pork-free does not belong on a pork-free page.
The other place pork hides is not food at all: flavored chewable medications commonly ride on pork protein. During any trial, ask your vet for non-flavored tablets. If you are still confirming the trigger, start with our pork allergy guide or pick from our trial-diet list.
What to Look For
Gelatin is treated as pork
Most gelatin is pork-derived and labels almost never state the source. It is excluded here, and worth checking in chews and capsules everywhere else.
Unnamed plasma fails the read
"Animal plasma" could be pork. This list drops it, and accepts losing the few foods using named beef or chicken plasma as the price of certainty.
Bacon flavor is pork exposure
Flavorings derived from the animal carry its proteins. Bacon-flavored anything is off the menu for a pork-allergic dog.
Ask about medications
Palatable chewables often use pork protein whether or not the label says so. Non-flavored tablet alternatives keep the trial clean.
How We Chose These Foods
We started with the 4,315 dog foods in our database and removed every food with pork, porcine, bacon, gelatin or plasma anywhere in its full ingredient list, using the same filter engine as our Food Navigator. That left 3,040 matching foods. The 100 highest-rated matches are shown below, ordered by average customer rating. No brand pays for placement. The allergy-risk score estimates how likely each food is to contain common allergy triggers, so you can weigh it alongside ingredients and price.

Low allergen riskFrequently Asked Questions
What should I feed a dog allergic to pork?
Most single-protein foods work, once the fine print is screened for pork liver, gelatin, plasma and bacon flavoring. That screening is exactly what this list does.
Is gelatin safe for a pork-allergic dog?
Treat it as pork unless the product names another source. Most gelatin is porcine, and it appears in chews, soft treats and capsule shells more than in food itself.
Why would a chicken recipe contain pork?
Pork liver is a cheap, effective palatant, so it appears low in the ingredient list of recipes named for other proteins. The recipe name tells you the headline protein, not the full list.
